IMC Pros Founder

Ken Murphy formed IMC Pros in June 2008 and has been proving his business theory that "marketing and communications are critical to business success" in today's Internet-based market ever since.

Murphy had already achieved international success during five years in the volatile airline industry. As Vice President of Marketing and Communications at UATP , Murphy was responsible for reviving a dying brand.

As a member of UATP's executive management team, Murphy oversaw the growth of credit card processing sales from a low of $6.2 billion in 2003 to a high of $9.2 billion in 2007.

Murphy revived a failing multi-million dollar Insurance Division that broke even within six months of his takeover in June 2004 and continued to make a profit throughout his 3 year tenure as division head.

Prior to joining UATP, Murphy was Director of Communications at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, an independent U.S. government agency with a worldwide active portfolio of USD 60 billion in 159 countries. He devised and implemented two successful Congressional reauthorizations for the agency in 1997 and 2001 on signed by President Bill Clinton, the other by President George W. Bush.

From 1990 to 1995 he worked at Patton Boggs LLC, first as a consultant, then as a Legislative Affairs Associate on healthcare, tax and communications issues.

Murphy has more than 20 years experience in communications as a journalist, congressional press secretary, speech writer, marketer, communications expert and public relations executive.

He has served on the National Business Travel Associations Allied Leadership Council; headed the Communications efforts of the Computer Assisted Sales and Marketing Association Advisory Board (CASMA); was a fellow and senior fellow at the Council for Excellence in Government; and, a National Press Foundation Paul Miller Fellow. 

Murphy is an award winning journalist with recognitions from the Associated Press, United Press International (UPI) and the Gannett Foundation. He also sold freelance stories to CBS, ABC, CNN, Reuters and UPI throughout a 10 year journalism career.

He has traveled extensively (around the world 12 times) on business and pleasure, including diplomatic missions for the U.S. government during his tenure at the Export-Import Bank; covered presidential and national political races as a journalist; and, interviewed three U.S. presidents; heads of state and numerous celebrities.

His communications and marketing credits include award winning video presentations, radio programs and Internet Web sites.
